Mirrored Animals by Stefano Zanin for House of Waris

Venice, Italy

Walking through the streets of Venice, Waris stumbled upon the studio of Stefano Zanin and son. By trade, they restore mirrors but their passion is art. Stefano Zanin first began apprenticing at an atelier in San Marco at the age of thirteen. Stefano's father, a restorer, cabinet-maker and wood carver, then introduced him to the gilder Giovanni Cavalier where he worked for six years, after which Stefano opened his own atelier near the Palazzo Grassi. Mirrors and tables enriched with designs and references to historic or mythological subjects are inspired by the rich and varied venetian monuments, ceramic decorations from different periods, and old art magazines. Waris worked with them to make mirrored versions of nature’s greatest creations.  Numbered edition.
